A form's field can be updated in the background through the execution of an event in another form.

For that, in the form where the field to update is, the property "Update with events in the background" must be selected in the form's advanced settings. In the form where the event with which the field will be updated is fired, the property "Fire events in the background" must be selected in the form's advanced settings.

Once these options have been selected, the field can be updated in the background, without needing to update the page.
